In order to raise a little money for our club foundation, bingo cards will be a suggested donation of $5 per card that will go directly to our Club Foundation. These funds allow us to serve our community - from purchasing food, coats, or school supplies to supporting local and global grants to supporting our youth leadership initiatives. Donations can be made with cash or via foundation QR code on your phone at the restaurant. Exact change is appreciated!
Thank you Select Cut!
Gail and Tony have been amazing hosts to our club for years, providing a consistent, welcoming space for regular meetings, social events, and large-scale programs (including our first Open House and a visit from a Rotary International President). Everything we've accomplished over the last few years would not have been possible without their partnership. Thank you, Gail and Tony!
Note: We will also be hosting a fully in-person Bingo Fundraiser at Select Cut in lieu of our regular meeting on Wednesday. All funds raised will go to our Club Foundation. Please try to bring cash to buy bingo cards ($5 suggested donation per card).
Guest speaker John Spesia
John Spesia with the Rotary Club of Joliet shared with us information about the Malawi Global Grant. We also recognized Kristen for being the member who attended the most Pints for Polio events this year (besides Alice, who did an amazing job organizing it!). Stay tuned for the final numbers from the Pints for Polio fundraiser.
Don't forget that we will not be meeting tonight due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Join us next week at Select Cut for a low-key bingo fundraiser!
At tomorrow's meeting we'll be regrouping after a very busy October and looking ahead to our plans for the next two months. See you tomorrow at 7PM, either virtually or at Select Cut Steakhouse!
Alliance for the Great Lakes service project
While not a traditional "beach", most of the trash collected today would have ended up in our local waterways during heavy rain events. Chicago is very reliant on our rivers and lake, so we need to work hard to keep them clean.
Thank you to Tata for organizing this project in collaboration with the Alliance for the Great Lakes!
Our final Pints for Polio fundraisers will be at Rockwell's Neighborhood Grill tomorrow and Monday. We hope to see you there!
